What not to expect

Solution Focused Telephone therapy.

Telephone therapy is an activity you choose, not one that others choose for you.   If another person suggests you should attend therapy then it is important for you to decide if therapy is right for you.  Therapy only works if you are ready to use it.

A therapist's aim is to help you reach your preferred future, your way and will not, under any circumstances, take on the role of advisor (tell you what to do, where to go or who to listen to).  Every session will consist of me listening, reflecting, summarising and encouraging you to work out your best solution for your best outcome to the problem/problems you bring to therapy.

If you need instructions on how to solve a problem it may be advisable to access self help books or services.
